Dracula gigas, more commonly known as "Monkey Orchid” is a rare species of epiphytic orchid. Native of Ecuador rainforests, up to an altitude of 2600 meters. This orchid with stunning appearance has blooms from spring until fall. The relatively thin sheets, are between 20 and 25 centimeters in length and 2 cm wide on average. Like most orchids, it requires high humidity (70-90%), it is necessary for proper development of the spray regularly. Allow the substrate superficially between watering to avoid root rot. Do not use hard water. For repotting, use a thin substrate of pine bark, perlite, charcoal and peat timber. Maintain a temperature between 18 and 25 ° C.
