Specialized in the sale of rare, original and unusual edible plants, but also of regional, old and forgotten vegetable varieties, the Alsagarden company was founded in 2010 by Lucas HEITZ, then a young graduate in the field of horticulture and passionate about the plant world.
Today, Alsagarden is not only an online store and a gardening blog but also a physical point of sale located in the town of Niederhaslach in Alsace, 25 minutes from Strasbourg.

Our philosophy
High quality organic seeds !
For more than a decade, we have distinguished ourselves by offering a wide range of seeds and collection plants as well as quality, organic and reproducible vegetable seeds.
Faithful to our convictions, we have chosen to work only with old varieties, called “populations”, free of rights and reproducible from year to year. Thus, we exclude from our vegetable range any variety of hybrid or GMO type, of course !
Our passion and the goal of our activity is to allow gardening enthusiasts to have at their disposal rare, unusual and sometimes declining plant species from our world botanical heritage.

Our variety selection
Le goût des plantes rares®, more than a slogan !
Happy to bring this diversity and these peasant seeds to life, our range currently includes more than 500 varieties, and our philosophy remains : le goût des plantes rares (“the taste of rare plants”) !
We are continuing our efforts by developing our assortment by focusing on the varieties that seem to us the most interesting, both in terms of taste and for the heritage and cultural interest they represent. Thus, one of the main challenges of our activity is to promote the cultivation of rare, ancient and forgotten species among amateur gardeners with the aim of conserving plant diversity.
Indeed, the more rare species and old varieties are cultivated, the lower the risk for them of falling into oblivion and disappearing. In this respect, we consider that amateur gardeners are true guarantors of this cultivated biodiversity.
