Salicornia europaea or glasswort is a halophytic annual dicot which grows in various zones of intertidal salt marshes. Salicornia europaea is highly edible, either cooked or raw. In England, it is one of several plants known as samphire (see also rock samphire). Samphire is usually cooked, either steamed or microwaved, and then coated in butter or olive oil.
The Hydrangea serrata 'Oamacha' is a hardy shrub native to the mountains of Japan and Korea. In summer, from late May to late July, he displays his superb flowering umbels composed of white, pink or blue. This species has the amazing distinction of having sweet leaves that are used as an infusion in Buddhist temples.
