Dracula gigas, more commonly known as "Monkey Orchid” is a rare species of epiphytic orchid. Native of Ecuador rainforests, up to an altitude of 2600 meters. This orchid with stunning appearance has blooms from spring until fall. The relatively thin sheets, are between 20 and 25 centimeters in length and 2 cm wide on average.
The leaflets of partridge sensitive-pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata) is called 'sensitive' because the leaves fold together when touched with a finger. This species is native to southern New England, and introduced in New Hampshire.
